Jews in Anders’ Army
A documentary film directed by Michał Szymanowicz about the fate of Jewish soldiers in the Polish Army in the East, commonly known as Anders’ Army. Among the soldiers and civilians brought out of the „inhuman land” of Soviet Russia, there were over 7,000 Polish citizens of Jewish origin, including over 4,000 soldiers. Three thousand of them left the ranks of the Polish Army in Palestine and joined the ranks of Jewish organizations fighting for the independence of Israel. The others covered the entire combat route of the 2nd Corps, including at Monte Cassino, at Ancona, capturing Bologna.
