English Version of the Exhibition 'Bataliony Harcerskie w Powstaniu Warszawskim”
MERGING OF THE UNITS
After the evacuation of Battalion „Gustaw” to Śródmieście, the two units merged. Captain „Gustaw” replaced the fallen „Harnaś” on September 3, and the combined unit, now called Battalion „Gustaw-Harnaś,” defended the lines of Mazowiecka Street, Świętokrzyska Street, and Napoleon Square up to Górskiego Street. Due to poor health, Captain „Gustaw” was hospitalized on September 6. Soon after, the battalion split into several sub-units and ceased to function as an independent unit. Some soldiers moved to Southern Śródmieście and Czerniaków, while the remaining ones fought in Northern Śródmieście in the area of Dąbrowski Square.
